David de Rothschild on The Plastiki Expedition The Plastiki arrived in Sydney Harbour this week after a four month, 7,500 nautical mile journey from San Francisco . The  unique 18.3-metre catamaran made from 12,500 reclaimed plastic soft drink bottles, showcases the latest recycling technologies and challenges us to  re-think waste as a resource, to better understand the lifecycle’s and materials used in our everyday lives, and to that waste is fundamentally a design flaw. Join the expedition leader, David de Rothschild, as he reveals the ground-breaking work of this team of experts in the field of boat building, architecture, sustainable design, engineering, materials, and innovative design technology. David will be in conversation with designer and award-winning inventor Sally Dominguez. David de Rothschild is a UK-based environmentalist and the author of The Global Warming Survival Handbook, The Boy, The Girl and the Tree and the editor of Dorling Kindersley’s Earth Matters.
